New PACE and PACENet Income Guidelines
In January 2004, more than 100,000 additional older Pennsylvanians became eligible for help through the Department of Aging's Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly, known as PACE/PACENet. Income for PACE is increased to $14,500 per year for one person and $17,700 per year for a couple. Co-payments for prescriptions are $6 for generic drugs and $9 for brand name drugs.
The PACENet program has significantly increased its guidelines. A single person with income between $14,501 and $23,500, per year is eligible for the program. For couples the income is between $17,701 and $31,500per year. Enrollees in the PACENet program pay a $40 monthly deductible and after that co-pays of $8 for generic drugs and $15 for brand name drugs.
First time applicants must provide proof of all income received in the previous calendar year and proof of age and Pennsylvania residency.
