Programs

Programs include: Information and Referral, Casework and Protective Services, Home Delivered Meals, In-home Services, Senior Centers, PrimeTime Health, APPRISE Insurance Counseling Program, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Long-term Care Ombudsman, Family Caregiver Support Program, and Pre-Admission Assessment for nursing and personal care facilities.

PACE/PACENET and Medicare Part D Questions and Answers
PACE/PACENET will combine benefits with Medicare Part D. You receive the same coverage that you currently receive with PACE/PACENET plus, in most cases, additional benefits with Medicare Part D.

Walk Across PA!
The Centre County Office of Aging has started a new walking program, "Walk Across PA!", at all six Senior Activity Centers in Centre County. All the retirement facilities in the county have also been invited to participate. The purpose of "Walk Across PA!" is to encourage older adults to exercise more regularly. Studies have proven that exercise, both mental and physical, is an important part of successful aging.

New PACE and PACENet Income Guidelines
In January 2004, more than 100,000 additional older Pennsylvanians will be eligible for help through the Department of Aging's Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly, known as PACE/PACENet.

Cost Sharing for Aging Services
Cost sharing is part of the larger home and community based care expansion made possible by the Tobacco Settlement funding.

Centre County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Senior Environment Corps
The Centre County Chapter of The Pennsylvania Senior Environment Corps was formed in 2002. It is a cooperative effort of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), the Centre County Conservation District, and the Centre County Office of Aging . RSVP provides free insurance, administrative support, and additional benefits to PaSEC volunteers.
